JOIN A GROUP

Christ Church United depends on the committees and volunteers that make up our dynamic church. Groups help us to stay connected together and to our community. They empower you and help you build meaningful relationships with others, as you mature in your walk with The Lord.

CCU Community Groups
Healing PathwaysHealing Pathway is a ministry of energy-based healing offered  within a heart-centered, inclusive community. It promotes self-care and assists in restoring wholeness, balance, and harmony at all levels of being – physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually through grounding techniques, meditation, and a series of healing sequences. Healing is experienced individually for receivers when an intention is set, and there is a connection to the Divine. The foundation of the program lies in the tradition of healing within the Christian faith and it is not necessary to be ill to benefit from Healing Pathway which is offered both in person, and by distance. CCU Healing Pathways sessions are normally scheduled on Friday afternoons in the Sanctuary. In-person sessions by the HP Team are held Wednesday evenings at 7:00pm. If you’d like to book a session or have any questions, please reach out Tina Gasser.
Pastoral Care TeamAre you already visiting or would you like to visit members of our congregation who are shut in, dealing with health issues or would appreciate a visit? We are looking to formalize a Pastoral Care Team at CCU and invite you to join us on April 22, 2025 so we can consolidate our efforts, develop a plan and ensure we’re not missing anyone.
If you have any questions, please reach out to Rev. Blair , Tina Gasser or Christine Cross-Barkley for more information.
Community Meditation GroupMeditation sessions are scheduled on Tuesday and Thursday evenings sessions at 7:00pm and Thursdays at 2:00pm. The Zoom link is here: https://christchurchu.us7.list-manage.com/track/click?u=e93a28ee154e1eb882fef8848&id=cb4c515d2a&e=c600a824cb

Book Club – Spring 2025

The Ragamuffin Gospel: Good News for the Bedraggled, Beat-Up, and Burnt Out
by Brennan Manning
Everyone welcome to join in for our Spring Book Club! This spring we are meeting on Thursday afternoons in the Great Hall, starting at 1:30pm.
Most of us believe in God’s grace—in theory. But somehow we can’t seem to apply it in our daily lives. We continue to see Him as a small-minded bookkeeper, tallying our failures and successes on a score sheet. Yet God gives us His grace, willingly, no matter what we’ve done. We come to Him as ragamuffins—dirty, bedraggled, and beat-up. And when we sit at His feet, He smiles upon us, the chosen objects of His “furious love.” Brennan Manning’s now-classic meditation on grace and what it takes to access it—simple honesty—has changed thousands of lives.
You can order the book on Amazon.ca or Christianbooks.com – also – you can call the Church office and have it ordered for you.

CCU Committees

Declare his glory among the nations, his marvellous deeds among all peoples. (Psalm 96:3)

The Communication & Marketing Committee:  Is responsible for managing and understanding how to effectively deliver information to the church community while also leaving room to be creative and develop new communication paths.  Rethink and reset how we communicate in the future.  Promote church events, activities and services to boost outreach and engagement.

The Finance Committee:  Is responsible for the oversight of the financial affairs of the Congregation including the preparation of a budget, regular reports to Christ Church United Council, and the timely receipt and disbursement of funds on a day-to-day basis on behalf of the Church Council and the Congregation.

The Trustees:  Are responsible for the legal obligations for the church and ensure requirements regarding insurance, investments and other financial matters are met.  Trustees are accountable and work closely with Christ Church United Council to respond to God’s call.

The Property Committee:  Is responsible for the care of the house of the family of God in its community.  This committee provides proper maintenance, routine inspections and maintains the Church to a level of safety that is required by health, fire and other government and local authorities.  All responsibilities are essential so that proper upkeep can be planned, and major renovations can be adequately anticipated.

The Worship Committee:  Is responsible for supporting the minister and other worship leaders.  The worship team is sensitive to new worship styles and to congregational traditions.  The actions of the minister and the community of faith working together are critical in creating dynamic worship.

The Outreach Committee:  Is responsible to develop and coordinate marketing and outreach activities, and to strengthen collaborative partnerships with our communities.  Outreach ministry is a common practice that helps a church spread God’s word and share his love with the community and the world at large.

The Eastern Ontario Outaouais Regional Council Representative (EOORC):  Is responsible for facilitating communications between the community of faith and EOORC, such as any concerns, views, decisions, as well as, strengthening the link between both parties.
